Inverse of Fermat Number Transform Using the Sliding Technique

This paper is about a new efficient method for the implementation of convolvers and correlators using the Fermat Number Transform (FNT) and the inverse (IFNT). The latter present advantages compared to Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT). An efficient state space method for implementing the Inverse FNT (IFNT) over rectangular windows is proposed for the cases where there is a large overlap be...

Linear Predictive Speech Coding Using Fermat Number Transform

This paper is about the reduction of the computational complexity of a speech codec. A Linear Predictive Coding procedure is developed to allow its implementation with Number Theoretic Transforms. The use of Fermat Number Transform can reduce, in a significant way, the cost of Linear Predictive algorithm implantation on Digital Signal Processor.

On the computation of discrete Fourier transform using Fermat number transform

In the paper the results of a study using Fermat number transforms (FNTs) to compute discrete Fourier transforms (DFTs) are presented. Eight basic FNT modules are suggested and used as the basic sequence lengths to compute long DFTs. The number of multiplications per point is for most cases not more than one, whereas the number of shift-adds is approximately equal to the number of additions in ...

The Twenty-second Fermat Number Is Composite

We have shown by machine proof that F22 = 22 +1 is composite. In addition, we reenacted Young and Buell's 1988 resolution of F20 as composite, finding agreement with their final Selfridge-Hurwitz residues. We also resolved the character of all extant cofactors of Fn , n < 22, finding no new primes, and ruling out prime powers.
